FESTIVAL RULES
1. The organizer of the International Animated Film Festival "Banja Luka 2008" is Associacion
for Visual Arts FENIX ART from Banja Luka.
2. Festival is held under the sponsorship of the Ministery of Education and Culture of Republic of
Srpska and the City of Banja Luka
3. The Festival Programme:
- Competition programme
- Informative selection of the films
- Non-competetive screenings
- Workshops of animated film
- Book promotions, exibitions, meetings with filmmakers
- Music events
5. The Festival will take place between 22-27. October 2008.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
1. The Entrants can submit animated films regardless of the genre or animation technique.
Duration time of the film should not be longer than 25 minutes. Submitted films had to be finished in 2006. or later.

4. Completed application forms should be sent to: prijave.anima@teol.net
5. Each Entrant should submit at least one photo from the film and the photo of the author in JPG format and resolution 300 dpi, size 10 x 15 cm.
6. We accept films in DVD format which can be read by any standard DVD player (PAL /NTSC)
7. There can be more films on one DVD. Each DVD must have menu with precise film titles related to film material. Each film must be submitted with a separate application form.
8. Each film with dialogue must have subtitles in English.
9. Applications must be received by August 1, 2008. Films are to be sent at your own expense.
SELECTION COMMITTEE, JURY AND AWARDS
1. The submitted films will be preselected by a Selection Committee which consists of three members. Preselection results will be published on the official internet site of International Animated Film Festival "Banja Luka 2008", not later than August 15 2008.
2. The Entrants will be informed about decisions of the Selection Committee by e-mail.
3. The official Jury of the Festival is international and includes 5 members. There is at least one jury member from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Jury members are specialists who deal with art of animation or movie industry. At the first jury meeting, president of the jury will be selected.
AWARDS
- GRAN PRIX (the best film) - statue of the Festival, diploma, money award (3.000,00 €) and honorary chairmenship of the next year' s Festival
- Special award of the jury (award for creativity and art expression) - diploma and money award (1.000, 00 €)
- Three awards for the animation tehniques (the best 2D, 3D, puppet animation, film clay animation tehnique) - diploma
- The audience award - diploma
6. Jury can also honour special awards.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
- The Festival cover expenses of accommodation for the directors of selected films. The Festival will contact directors and producers whose films are selected for the official competion programme.
SENDING BACK THE FILMS
- For the films included in competition programme, film producers are obliged to send Betacam SP PAL.
- The Festival covers expenses of sending back by mail films chosen for the competition programme. Betacam SP PAL tape will be sent back to the address written in the application form not later than 40 days after the closing of the Festival.
RIGHTS
- Each DVD sent to the Festival will remain in the Festival archive and will be used for non-commercial presentations aimed to promote the Festival.
