Synopsis
Using simple shapes and symbols the animation illustrates the universal struggle of individuals compelled to leave their homeland in pursuit of safety. It explores how small acts of kindness and understanding can help heal the wounds of displacement, overcome isolation, and cultivate a sense of belonging in a new environment. Furthermore, the animation highlights the transformative impact of immigration on both forced migrants and their new communities.
Biografija režisera
I was born in 1999 in Minsk, Belarus, and fled to Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2020 due to political repression. I earned a bachelor's degree in graphic art from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2022 and a master's degree in 2024. With over 10 years of experience as an illustrator, I’ve recently focused on animation. In 2023-2024, I created and animated the short film Straight and in a Circle about refugee adaptation. I've also participated in various master classes, festivals, charity fairs, and exhibitions in Lithuania, Belarus, Poland, and Austria.
